This 45-week, 60-credit Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program prepares students to deliver patient-centered care, act as patient safety advocates, and participate effectively as members of the nursing profession and healthcare team. Graduates are trained to care for a limited number of patients across diverse healthcare settings.

Through this program, students will develop clinical reasoning and apply knowledge grounded in their nursing studies, evidence-based practice, and research-based policies for informed, safe decision-making and patient care. Students will gain skills in using patient care technologies and information systems that support safe nursing practice, advocate for safety and quality improvement, and coordinate care with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to enhance quality of life.

Additionally, students will learn to adhere to professional nursing standards within legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines, demonstrate delegation, management, and leadership abilities, and embody the values and ethics of the nursing profession, including fostering a spirit of inquiry.

Upon successful completion of the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program, graduates will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Passing this exam will qualify graduates to become Registered Nurses.

Our graduates find employment opportunities in hospitals, physician offices, home healthcare services, nursing care facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, and the military.
